How-to: Start and End a Livestream
Learn the basics of starting and ending a Livestream.
When you Livestream, you’ll be able to connect directly with your supporters and create opportunities for them to connect with one another.
If you need support, click on the Need Livestreaming Help? button for further instructions or to speak to a live support expert.
Before You Begin
- Hosts and presenters must join the Livestream on a desktop or laptop. You won't be able to host or present on a mobile or tablet device.
- We encourage all hosts, presenters, and attendees to access and view the Livestream using Chrome.
- Internet Explorer does not support Livestreaming, and some users are unable to hear or be heard when using Safari.
Start Livestream
There are three steps to starting a Livestream.
- Start stream mode
- Enter Greenroom
- Go Live
1. Start Stream Mode
When you select Start stream mode, the appearance of your fundraising page will change from standard mode to Livestream mode. Starting stream mode 30-60 minutes before your Livestream and leaving a welcome message for your audience lets audience members know they are at the right place and that your Livestream is about to start. The audience will not be able to see or hear you.

2. Enter Greenroom
When you select Enter Greenroom, you’ll be able to check your audio and video settings before going on stage. The individual who starts the Livestream will show as ‘onstage,’ but audience members will not hear or see them until step 3 has been completed. This person can also hear and interact with the other backstage presenters.
3. Go Live
Selecting Go Live starts the Livestream. After a few seconds, your audience members will see and hear whoever is onstage.
End Livestream
There are two steps to starting a Livestream.
- End Session
- End Stream Mode
- Leave Greenroom
1. End Session
The End Session button will end the Livestream but will not remove the Livestream window from your Campaign Page.
When you select End Session, you will see this popup:
You can choose one of three options for how your page will look when your Livestream has ended:
Display custom text allows you to leave a message for your donors.
Select On-Demand Replay creates a replay of your Livestream that's displayed on your Campaign Page.
End stream mode will return your Campaign Page to its original look without the Livestream window.
2. Leave Greenroom
The Leave Greenroom button removes you from the Livestream. You will no longer be onstage or backstage. If a presenter accidentally selects the Leave Greenroom button, they can select the Enter Greenroom button again to rejoin the Livestream.
If you want to remove everyone from the stage, select the Move button and then Move all backstage.
