Crowdfunding Fundraisers: What You Need to Know

Our crowdfunding fundraisers are user-friendly, customizable ways to help you generate donations for your cause. We have several flexible options to help you reach your fundraising goals.

Crowdfunding types

  • Simple Crowdfunding: Create a page to receive donations for your organization. Use this page to share a compelling story about your organization and how donations will be used to further your cause. Add images and videos to further bring your story to life.

  • Crowdfunding with perks/rewards: Encourage people to donate at a higher level by offering merchandise or other incentives at different donation amounts.

  • Crowdfunding with Peer-to-Peer fundraising: Allow participants to join your fundraiser to help generate donations. This option works well for schools and other organizations that can benefit from people participating without receiving donations per unit of activity, as in a-thon fundraisers.

Donation types accepted

  • One-time donations allow donors to give a single donation whenever they choose. Donors can make as many one-time donations as they would like.
  • Recurring donations allow donors to give a set amount on a regular set schedule, for example, $50 every month. Recurring donations are charged only when the experience is live. Organizations that wish to accept recurring donations with no end date can do so using a donations page.

Promote your experience

To begin making progress towards your fundraising goals, begin spreading the word about your crowdfunding experience to as many people as possible. Sharing your fundraiser with the greatest number of potential donors increases exposure and may make others more likely to share your cause with people in their network, too. You can share the link to your fundraiser on social media or send an email to your donors, family, and friends to get the word out.

Additionally, our free text-to-give tool helps to generate donations at live events. With this option, you’ll use a unique keyword and number, which will allow people to text and receive a link to the experience on their phone. They can then donate at their convenience on their mobile device. Read this article for more ideas on how to use this convenient feature:

If you’re holding a live event and want to ensure the broadest possible visibility, consider live-streaming it so that anyone who can’t attend can still participate. Viewers will be able to watch your event on your fundraiser page and donate in real time. Find out more below:
