Understand: Charity A-Thons

Learn about RallyUp’s A-Thon options and how to customize them.

A-Thons are a “pledge per” fundraiser:

  1. Supporters sign up to participate in one or more A-Thon activities (e.g., walking, running, dancing, reading, etc.).
  2. Donors pledge to donate a certain amount per each unit of activity completed (e.g., $5 per mile in a jog-a-thon or $1 per word in a spell-a-thon). If they prefer, donors can also make a flat, one-time donation.
  3. Participants log their progress during or after their A-Thon.
  4. Once the Experience is finalized, donors’ credit cards are charged per unit of activity completed by the Participants.

RallyUp provides many tools and customization options to help you run a smooth and successful A-Thon. The links below will take you to other Knowledge Base articles with further information.

Participants and Teams

You can run an A-Thon with one Participant or multiple Participants. If there are more than one Participant, donors can select the Participant(s) they want to support. You can also allow Participants to form Teams to fundraise together.

Allowing multiple Participants automatically enables Peer-to-Peer. This allows supporters to sign up to help you fundraise:
